Cracking in a Partition Wall Supported on RCC Slab/ Beam, When Length to Height Ratio is Large and there is a Central- Door Opening:

In this case diagonal cracks occur because of combined action of flexural tension in the porton of masonry above the opening and self weight of unsupported masonry on the sides of the opening. Cracks start from lintels where thery are widest and get thinner as they travel upward.
