Black galaxy granite, Ghibli(Ghibilee) gold granite, ColumboJubrana granite, Paradiso classic granite slabs Laying procedure.

Black galaxy granite, Ghibli(Ghibilee) gold granite, ColumboJubrana granite, Paradiso classic granite slabs are igneous rocks and gain beautiful shine and high level of polishing. This is called mirror polishing.

Black galaxy granite is quarried from Andhra Pradesh

Ghibli(Ghibilee) gold granite is quarried from Tamilnadu.

ColumboJubrana granite is quarried from Tamilnadu.

Paradiso classic granite is quarried from Tamilnadu.

There are 3 ways of laying granite slabs .

  1. Laying granite slabs with cement and sand mortar.
  2. Laying granite slabs with chemical adhesive
  3. Laying granite slabs over existing flooring with chemical adhesive.

Laying granite slabs with cement and sand mortar.

Cement and sand mortar mixed in a ratio of 1:4 are applied as a screed of minimum thickness of 20-25mm and uniformly compacted after checking the levels

Apply cement slurry over the back of the slabs to ensure proper bonding with the surface.

The slabs are to be laid in a way the joint thickness is as thin as possible  and uniformly spaced.

For proper bonding,  the slabs have to be gently pressed with wooden mallet

Provision of Borders and 3D designs greatly enhances the beauty of the flooring.

We have done lot of 3D floorings and border designs . These can be seen in our Website, Preethamgranites.com

It is very much necessary to clean the cement mortar over the surface of granite slabs otherwise whitening effect will occur over slabs.

Always the granite slabs are mirrorpolished and they are very much resistant to abrasion.

Granite slabs presents a very romantic appearance.

Slab sizes:

Bigger size of slabs are preferred as it will reduce the number of joints and variation in grain pattern. Only problem is handling.

Smaller size of slabs are very easy to handle and their fixing will be much easier. Joints will be more and variation is bound to occur.

Applying colour enhancers and agers will greatly improve the appearance of granite slabs.

Laying with chemical adhesives.

Here the slabs can be laid either over roof slab or over existing flooring.

The floor level to be maintained and the minimum thickness of adhesives is 15mm.

The adhesive to be uniformly applied over the slab and for proper adherence, the slabs have to be pressed gently with wooden mallets to avoid any air gap.
